Tomorrow is my twenty sixth wedding anniversary, strangely enough it's also my husband's! It seems like, well, no not yesterday, but all of twenty six years. It's been a journey, well no more like an endless journey with a very bad co-driver, me. I am hopeless with map reading, you might guess this by the way I have to turn the map to follow along the road. At times I have forgotten the destination being more concerned about the steep hills ahead, the windy roads on the edge of a cliff, or the lack of passing places. Most of the time I forgotten to see the view, just looking out of the windows and seeing an unidentifiable blur flash by, knowing it to be significant but not sure how. Still, we are still making the journey together with five passengers having dropped two off on the way to make their own journeys. ' Happiness within our family will most likely be achieved when it’s founded on the teachings of Jesus. That means being unselfish, honest, loyal, loving and a whole host of other virtues, not to mention a lot of effort. A loving and happy family doesn’t happen by accident.' www.lds.org.
Well as we carry on our journey I am glad himself has been doing the driving with his eye fixed on the destination and remained steadily focused there. My contribution has been handing out the sweets, messing with the air con, tuning the radio and planning the toilet breaks. As I look back over the miles we have traveled it's been a great adventure with lots of joy and happiness and been worth the effort. Thank goodness our satnav has been the teachings of Jesus Christ. His GPS will never lead us astray.
Keep your faith.
